supreme pizza dip

supreme_pizza_dip_1This dip, honest to goodness, is one of the most delicious things I have ever had the pleasure of consuming.  It’s cheese, layered with cheese, topped with marinara, add more cheese and then finish with your favorite pizza toppings.  There is absolutely no way this could go wrong.  (Okay, maybe someone could mess it up but they’d have to try really hard doing so.)

supreme_pizza_dip_2My toppings were modeled after Pizza Hut’s super supreme (minus the Italian sausage).  Sticky said it was like eating pizza and lasagna at the same time.  That’s the dream right?  When you make your own version (because you are making this, you must) be creative as you want with your toppings.  If you need to please a large crowd you could whip up two.  One for the carnivores and another for the veg-heads.

supreme_pizza_dip_3Come armed with this bad boy on Super Bowl Sunday and you won’t have to worry about toting leftovers home!

Enjoy!

super bowl sweets

The Super Bowl is upon us! If you’re looking for a fun man-friendly, please-a-crowd, dessert to whip up- I’ve got a few idea’s for you. Looking back through our roundup of recipes for past few years (technically we are a few days shy of a “few” years- but holy smokes you guys it’s almost our two year birthday!) I’ve selected a few that meet all of the above-said standards.

First up…

Everyone loves rice crispy treats.  Add browned butter and you’re Betty Crocker.   If you’re looking for fast and fabulous, this is for you.

And then of course there are these…

These Guinness Pretzel Truffles will seriously knock some socks off.

And lastly, lets not forget about these..

I’ll admit these brownies take a bit of TLC- but they are rich and totally worth it.

Regardless of who you are cheering for, may your belly (and your heart) be full.

diy grapefruit mask

grapefruit_mask_1Never has a winter gone by that my fridge was not stocked with ruby red goodness.  I love the sweet yet bitter taste of grapefruit.  Plus once it’s cut you can’t help but be mesmerized by it’s beauty.  Because of this fact it should be of no surprise that it is fantastic for your skin.  Grapefruit contains retinal antioxidants which repair damaged skin and halt the production of fine lines.  Yes, you heard me correctly, grapefruit slows down aging.  (Are you rubbing one all over your face yet?)

grapefruit_mask_2DIY Grapefruit Mask

  • juice of 1/2 a grapefruit
  • tbsp of honey (preferably raw and local)
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal (not quick oats)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl.  (If runny, let sit for a few minutes for oats to absorb juice.)  Apply to clean, dry face using clean hands (avoiding the eyes).  Let dry and rinse with warm water.  This makes at least 2 applications.  Store leftover in airtight container in fridge for up to one week.

*Be sure to test skin for any sensitivities towards ingredients.

grapefruit_mask_3What are you going to do with the other half of that grapefruit?  You could eat it I guess.  Or you could grab the gin and make one of our most popular cocktails.

Cheers to younger looking skin!

winter wardrobe sos

I spent a few minutes this weekend reminiscing over old posts and realized I have not posted an outfit in a long long time.  Yeah, sorry about that.  To be frank I have totally fallen into hermit, unwashed ponytail hair, yoga pants wearing, mom with baby mode.  I could blame it on nursing.  Or the winter.  Or the fact that Sticky travels a lot this time of year…but I won’t.  I have simply been lazy in the “put myself together” department.  And it is undoubtedly taking it’s toll.

I told Sticky there is one big thing we need as soon as humanely possible.  A legit, no making a run for diapers, date night.  (I’m in desperate need of a pedicure as well but I feel like that’s asking a bit much.)  In my head it goes like this: A table for 2 in one of our favorite restaurants.  We’ll drool over food we hardly ever get the chance to eat anymore.  Finished with drinks at the bar while sitting dangerously close to each other.  We’ll talk about our dreams, flirt a little and I’ll check him out when gets up to go to the bathroom.  (He’s so handsome, I can’t help myself.)  Just typing all that out plants the biggest smile on my face.  Hopefully Mr Rammel can take a blatantly obvious hint.

If said date night happens I will do an outfit post.  Promise.

Tired of winter yet?  Not me, but only because I realize it will not be over any time soon so I might as well have a positive attitude.  I do however dislike the annoying little things that come with winter…like my gorgeous boots covered in nasty salt.  Here is a quick guide to winter defense for your wardrobe:

love day gifts

I’m just going to come out and say it.  I love my husband but he is sort of terrible at holidays and gift giving, a trait he will openly admit.  The way I see it, there are far worse qualities a person can have, therefor I over look it.  Two years into marriage and I’ve realized that if I ever hope to improve this little quirk I’ve got to be not so subtle about what I want.  This year he has received a few forwarded emails, I’ve blatantly showed him things, and seriously, I am above nothing at  this point.

If your guy, too, needs a few hints- or vice versa- here’s a good place to start.

1. Uncommon Goods has this super adorable and borderline cheesy book that you can fill out and go through together.  (Add a bottle of wine and I feel like it would make a good conservation starter!)  2. These bowls are dreamy. 3. This dish is simple and sweet for any girl who needs somewhere to place her rings.  (We all need a few spots!)  4.  A cozy throw blanket is my favorite companion in the winter.  Love these!  5.  Ever since finding a teacup dish towel that I’m obsessed with I have been crushing on pretty towels.  6. Imagine serving up Valentine’s Day dinner on these lovelies.  Swoon!  7. Okay- I actually already have this book- but I wanted to share it with you all.  It’s romantic and such a good coffee table book!  8. A gift for him, this shaving kit bag is the perfect gift that is not only functional, but also adorable.

Have a great weekend!
